Updated FAQ about RAS-Manager

New in Version 5.6  -  April 2001

Due to the fact that the web's net utilization increases the time to establish a connection may also be increased. If this happens, the RAS-Manager interrupts the dialing process and recommends to increase the value of "Timeout".
The password for a phonebook entry can be set to be inquired prior to each dialing process, independent if the password was filled in when creating or editing this entry.
The RAS-Manager can be set for a permanent online environment and stays then online, also if a program is terminated.
Protection against web Vamping is included in cases a stranger intents to install an own dialer using an expensive phone number..
An additional option at the "Settings area" gives the opportunity to investigate the service provider of a phonebook entry including the performance of data transmission.

HINT:
A RAS-Connection (phonebook entry) is established on the computer in order to be able to reach Internet Services, like WWW, eMail, Chat etc., by using an internal or external modem working as analog or ISDN device. The RAS-Manager replaces the multiple procedures when using  windows dialogs, by a "all in one" dialog.
